Cambodia, UNDP Forge New Partnership on Tourism Cooperation


The Ministry of Tourism and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) have initiated new development projects in tourism sector.

The discussion took place at the ministry on Oct. 22 between H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism and Mr. Enrico Gaveglia, UNDP Resident Representative.

On the occasion, UNDP lauded the fruitful results of past cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, promising to continue to assist in many more new projects.

For his part, H.E. Minister appreciated and thanked UNDP for always standing with the Ministry of Tourism to promote the development of tourism, which is considered a priority sector by the Royal Government, in a resilient, sustainable and environmentally friendly manner through many development projects.

The two sides expressed satisfaction with the results of past cooperation and decided to further strengthen the strategic partnership by signing agreements to implement new tourism development projects aimed at promoting and developing the tourism sector sustainably and helping to preserve the environment, focusing on reducing plastic litter and developing sustainable eco-tourism in coastal areas.
