Cambodian, Egyptian Envoys in Seoul Pledge Mutual Support and Human Capital Cooperation


The Cambodian and Egyptian ambassadors to the Republic of Korea met this week to strengthen bilateral ties between their missions, focusing on diplomatic efficiency and long-standing educational cooperation.

The meeting took place on Jan. 21, between H.E. Khuon Phon Rattanak, Cambodia’s Ambassador to South Korea, and his Egyptian counterpart, H.E. Hazem Ismail Ibrahim Zaki, according to an official statement from the Cambodian Embassy.

The two diplomats discussed strategies to enhance the effectiveness of their respective missions in Seoul.

Ambassador Khuon Phon Rattanak provided updates on the current situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border.

The Cambodian Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Egyptian government for its consistent support of Cambodia’s human resource development. A primary highlight was Egypt’s ongoing commitment to providing annual scholarships for Cambodian Muslim students to study at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, one of the world’s most prestigious institutions for Islamic learning.

Beyond bilateral concerns, the envoys exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues, reflecting a shared commitment to maintaining stability and fostering multilateral cooperation.
