The ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Cambodia-China tourism cooperation to attract more Chinese tourists to the Kingdom.
The commitment was reaffirmed by H.E. Shi Zhongjun, Secretary-General of the ACC, during a bilateral meeting with H.E. Huot Hak, Cambodian Minister of Tourism, on Jan. 29 in Cebu, Philippines.
In the meeting, H.E. Huot Hak expressed his appreciation and high commendation for the ongoing cooperation with the ACC, as well as for the positive outcomes achieved in the past, which have contributed to the promotion of Cambodia’s tourism sector.
These efforts include capacity-building and training programmes, organisation of familiarisation (FAM) trips, and facilitation of visits by Chinese tourists through Chinese tour operators, he said.
The Minister informed the Chinese delegation of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s policy to offer visa exemptions for Chinese nationals on a trial basis for a four-month period, from June 15 to Oct. 15, 2026.
For his part, ACCC Secretary-General reaffirmed his commitment to continue enhancing tourism cooperation with Cambodia.
The ACC also invited the Cambodian delegation to participate in a Forum on the Promotion of Tourism Safety and Security, to be held in China this year.
H.E Minister welcomed the invitation and expressed that, through the regional forum, Cambodia will further enhance its promotion in the Chinese, regional, and global markets highlighting Cambodia as a safe, secure, and well-prepared tourism destination ready to welcome visitors from all over the world.
