H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing, President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, has kicked off his two-day State Visit to the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.
The Myanmar top leader arrived at Techo International Airport this morning. He was welcomed upon arrival by H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology as Minister-in-Attendance, and many other senior officials.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the visit, H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing will hold a summit meeting with Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, and hold bilateral talks with Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The leaders of the two countries will discuss ways to strengthen their close relations and expand mutually beneficial cooperation, as well as exchange views on various regional and international issues of common interest.
The President of Myanmar will lay wreaths at the Independence Monument and at the Royal Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK “PREAH BOROM RATANAK KAUDH”, the late King-Father of Cambodia.
“The State Visit of H.E. U Min Aung Hlaing reaffirms the shared commitment to further strengthening the warm bonds of friendship between the two countries and peoples,” the press release emphasised.
The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar officially established their diplomatic relations on July 12, 1955.
