Cambodia to Boost Global Visibility via 20th Francophonie Summit Media Partnership

Cambodian Minister of Information H.E. Neth Pheaktra met on Tuesday with Ms. Oria Kije Vandeweghe, Communications Director and Spokesperson of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), to strengthen media cooperation for the upcoming 20th Francophonie Summit.

The bilateral meeting, held at the Ministry of Information on Nov. 3, focused on enhancing media operations, coordination, and support for national and international journalists covering the summit and related events.

Key discussion points included streamlining media accreditation, establishing an international media centre, managing official press releases, and providing technical support to ensure smooth and effective coverage.

Over 1,200 national and international journalists from nearly 40 countries are expected to cover the summit and its side events, scheduled for Nov. 13-17, 2026, in Phnom Penh.

Discussions also addressed global media outreach through official event partners, including France’s TV5Monde – which reaches an estimated 400 million viewers worldwide – and Africa 24, broadcasting to over 80 million viewers across the African continent, along with other international media outlets.

Neth Pheaktra, who also Heads the Information and Media Sub-Committee of the National Commission for Organising the 20th Francophonie Summit, highlighted that the partnership will project Cambodia’s national prestige, rich culture, economic potential, and hosting capabilities onto the global stage.
