Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, has sent a message to his Japanese counterpart H.E. Hiroyuki Hosoda, expressing his condolences over the passing of former Prime Minister of Japan H.E. ABE Shinzo last Friday.
“On this sorrowful moment, on behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences and sympathies to Your Excellency and, through you, to the bereaved family, as well as the brotherly people of Japan for the great loss of an outstanding national figure,” read the condolences message dated July 11.
Deceased former Japanese Prime Minister ABE Shinzo was a towering and popular statesman who made immense contributions to the elevation of the long-standing ties of friendship between Cambodia and Japan to new heights, together with peace, stability and economic prosperity in the region and the world at large, he stressed, adding that during his terms in office, his government also provided substantial assistance to Cambodia and other ASEAN member countries.
“The National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia strongly condemns this barbaric and despicable act of violence while standing with the House of Representatives and the people of Japan in mourning his irreversible departure,” Samdech Heng Samrin emphasised.
