DPM Prak Sokhonn Receives Malaysian Business Delegation


Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn received here this morning a courtesy call by Malaysian business delegation and its partners in Cambodia, consisting of 150 representatives and stakeholders.
According to a press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) issued this evening, the trade mission, co-organised by the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to Malaysia, Economic Diplomacy Coordinating Group (EDCG) of MFAIC, aims to further enhance Cambodia-Malaysia bilateral economic partnership, inflow of trade and investment as well as to explore the vast untapped potentials of Cambodia.

This is one of the main activities in implementing the Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2021-2023 and also the second Malaysian trade mission to the Kingdom of Cambodia after the successful organisation of its first mission for Malaysia SMEs delegation back in April 2022.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and expressed his utmost delight that the courtesy call coincides with Malaysia’s Independence Day, while 2022 marks the 65th Anniversary of Cambodia-Malaysia diplomatic relations.

The DPM thanked the Royal Embassy of Cambodia to Malaysia for their efforts and contribution to effective execution of the Economic Diplomacy Strategy 2021-2023, and emphasised that the trade mission reflects the increase in Malaysian investors’ high confidence on Cambodia’s economic aspects, political stability, and the Royal Government of Cambodia’s Post COVID-19 Recovery Plan.
H.E. Deputy Prime Minister concluded this courtesy call by underlining the importance of Cambodia-Malaysia bilateral cooperation and encouraging Malaysian businessmen to explore various sectors with great potentials such as agriculture, tourism, and infrastructure.
