Ruling Party Satisfied With Order On Ballot Papers

President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, has expressed his satisfaction with the order of CPP on the ballot papers for the July 23 National Election. Addressing to the inauguration ceremony of a new school building of Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University in Phnom Penh this morning, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said it is not bad that CPP stands last on the ballot papers. “No. 18 is 1+8 equals 9, which is a very good number representing energy, forces and luck in (Chinese) Feng Shui,” he explained. “It is also easy to find (on ballot papers), the last one, on the right.”

Yesterday, the National Election Committee held a draw to determine the order on the ballot papers of the 18 political parties registered to run for the election for the 125-member National Assembly under the witness of His Holiness Buddhist Supreme Patriarch General Tep Vong, Buddhist Supreme Patriarch of Dhamma Mahanikaya of Cambodia, and His Holiness Samdech Preah Abhisiri Sugandha Mahasangharajah Dhipati Bour Kry, Great Supreme Patriarch of Dhammayuttikaya of Cambodia.
