Cambodia Asks South Korea to Bring in More Investments

Cambodia has asked South Korea to attract more investments, especially those in line with the Comprehensive Intermodal Transport and Logistic System (CITLS) Master Plan 2023-2033.

The request was made by H.E. Peng Ponea, Minister of Public Works and Transport, during a meeting with H.E. Park Jung-Wook, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Cambodia, in Phnom Penh on Feb. 21.

H.E. Peng Ponea informed H.E. Park Jung-Wook that the CITLS master plan set 174 priority projects with a total investment of approximately US$36.6 billion.

The minister also highlighted the planned construction of the Cambodia-Korea Friendship Bridge (Phsar Chas-Chroy Changvar-Areyksat), expected to break ground in 2025.

Besides, the two sides discussed more cooperation opportunities for infrastructure development and connectivity in Cambodia.
