Cambodia Appreciates Cooperation with UN


The Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior has lauded the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Cambodia’s support for the country.

H.E. Aphi Santepundit Sar Sokha met with Mr. Joseph Scheuer, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Cambodia, on May 20 at the ministry here in Phnom Penh.

On behalf of the Ministry of Interior, the deputy prime minister thanked the UN for its support for Cambodia’s rehabilitation and development through working closely with the government, civil society organisations, other development partners, and the private sector.

H.E. Aphi Santepundit Sar Sokha also highly valued the cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the UN in sub-national governance, road safety, combating gender-based violence, climate change, food security, and social protection.

Mr. Joseph Scheuer appreciated the Ministry of Interior for its security measures and for cooperation with the UN.

Both sides are determined to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation.
