A Cambodian Delegation Attends 12th Mekong-ROK Business Forum in Laos


A Cambodian delegation led by H.E. Ms. RATH Many, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC), attended the 12th Mekong-ROK Business Forum in Vientiane, Lao PDR on Aug. 20.

Co-organised by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR and the Republic of Korea (ROK), the forum was themed “Capacity Building of SMEs to Enhance Connectivity in the Mekong Region”.

According to the MFAIC, the event was aimed to maintain the momentum for stronger public-private partnership and provided the opportunity for SMEs in Mekong countries and ROK to build business linkages, identify and explore potential business partners in order to expand their respective businesses.

During the panel discussion, it pointed out, the Cambodian representative from the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation presented the current situation of SMEs in Cambodia, especially, the introduction of the National Strategy for the Development of the Informal Economy 2023-2028, that includes offering tax incentives, such as exemptions from certain taxes and fees for SMEs that voluntarily register.
