In the spirit of ASEAN friendship, unity, and cooperation, the Committee on Political Matters of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) has discussed and approved three draft resolutions co-sponsored by Cambodia to enhance regional collaboration and development.
The meeting, held on Oct. 20 in Vientiane, Lao PDR during the 45th AIPA General Assembly, was chaired by a representative of the Lao National Assembly with delegates from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Viet Nam.
The Cambodian delegation was led by H.E. Ty Sokun, Secretary of the National Assembly Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information.
The three approved draft resolutions include: Resolution on Promoting People’s Participation in Advancing Regional Peace, Stability, and Development; Resolution on Strengthening the Role of Parliaments in Promoting ASEAN Connectivity and Inclusive Growth through ASEAN Political-Security Cooperation; and Resolution on Encouraging Parliamentary Cooperation in Digital Inclusion Efforts to Empower People of ASEAN and Ensure Cooperation for Regional Peace, Stability, Security and Prosperity.
