Cambodian Ruling Party Leaders Receives 26 Senior Delegates from 22 Nations


Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) and Honorary President of the 12th International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) General Assembly, received here this morning 26 senior delegates from 22 nations participating in the 12th ICAPP General Assembly in Phnom Penh from Nov. 21-24.

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, CPP Vice President and President of 12th ICAPP General Assembly, was also present at the courtesy meeting.

The delegation was led by H.E. Chung Eui-yong, Co-Chairperson of the ICAPP Standing Committee and ICAPP Secretary General.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen welcomed the ICAPP delegation and briefly outlined the political and economic developments in Cambodia over the past 45 years, under the leadership of CPP, which has transformed Cambodian from an unstable country with civil war to a country with peace and stability, from a country devastated in all sectors to a country with development in all sectors today.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen added that Cambodia’s economic growth has been exceeding 7 percent for more than two decades, and the Royal Government has set 2029 as the year to graduate from the LDC status.

For their part, the ICAPP leaders highly appreciated the rapid development of all sectors of Cambodia, and spoke highly of Samdech Techo’s leadership in leading the country to peace, political stability and development.

The ICAPP leaders also recalled the success of the 6th ICAPP General Assembly, which Cambodia hosted in 2010. The President and Co-Chairs of the ICAPP Standing Committee wished CPP success in hosting this historic General Assembly for the second time.
