Royal Government Launches National Social Protection Policy Framework 2024-2035


The “National Social Protection Policy Framework 2024-2035” was launched here this morning under the presidency of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.

This event was held along with the opening ceremony of the annual “Cambodia Social Protection Week 2025”.

In his keynote speech, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said the “National Social Protection Policy Framework 2024-2035” and the “Cambodia Social Protection Week 2025” are the important guide and event to boost the improvement of the citizens’ welfare and living, human capital development, and poverty reduction.

The National Social Protection Policy Framework 2024-2035, with a long-term vision to provide support to citizens against income insecurity at each stage of life, focusing on promoting health and welfare, reducing poverty, gender inequality, and social inequality, and strengthening social solidarity, stability, and equity, he said.

This “National Social Protection Policy Framework 2024-2035” will be the guides replacing the current National Social Protection Policy Framework 2016-2025 to ensure the sustainability of the development of the social protection system in Cambodia for the next 11 years, which reflects the Royal Government’s commitment to providing policy direction in order to continue providing income security to citizens through the lifecycle risks, in alignment with Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I of the Royal Government of Cambodia of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly.

For the “Cambodia Social Protection Week 2025,” it opens the opportunities for the dialogues, exchange of views, knowledge and best practices between stakeholders, especially to inform the public as well as the beneficiaries about the benefits that citizens shall receive from the social protection system in Cambodia.
