The Ministry of Commerce, in collaboration with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), launched here on Feb. 21 a book and policy dialogue on “Global Service Supply Chains in ASEAN and East Asia: Implications and Opportunities for Regional Integration and Cambodia.”
H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce, presided over the event, co-organised by the ministry and ERIA with the participation of ERIA President Mr. Tetsuya Watanabe and representatives of relevant ministries, institutions and private sector.
In her keynote address, H.E. Mrs. Cham Nimul expressed appreciation to the research team for their works. The book was very timely and appropriate in providing critical insights into gaps in the policy framework and economic structure, while contributing to addressing service development challenges and providing actionable policy recommendations for national policy makers, especially for Cambodia, she said.
The policy dialogue provided a unique and invaluable opportunity to thoroughly examine the challenges facing Cambodia’s services sector and to explore feasible strategies for addressing them by gathering representatives from both the public and private sectors, as well as key stakeholders from the industry sector, added H.E Minister.
