Defence Spokesperson Reports Thai Violation of Ceasefire Agreement

H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defence, made an urgent statement this afternoon, accusing Thailand of violating the ceasefire agreement and threatening peace and security along the shared border.

“At 11 a.m. this morning, Thai Armed Forces accompanied by heavy machinery such as excavators entered the Anseh area and other locations within Cambodian sovereignty territory and even laid barbed wire despite strong objections from our forces,” she said.

The spokesperson recalled that Cambodia had arranged a visit by foreign military attachés to these areas on July 30, 2025, clearly demonstrating that the locations fall within Cambodia’s internationally recognised territory.

“This act constitutes a flagrant violation of the ceasefire and poses a grave threat to peace and stability along the border between the two countries, as well as to the wider region,” she emphasised.

Cambodia, she added, calls on the international community—particularly partner countries that helped broker this hard-won ceasefire and wish to see it fully and effectively implemented—to demand that Thailand immediately cease its aggressive actions and fully respect international law, especially Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
