Minister of Education Urges Cambodian Scholarship Recipients to Excel in Hungary


H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, met on Aug. 20 with 16 Cambodian students who were awarded the prestigious Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship.

The students are preparing for their departure to Hungary to pursue higher education.

Speaking on behalf of Cambodia’s Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron congratulated the students on this significant achievement.

He encouraged them to study diligently to gain valuable knowledge and experience that will contribute to Cambodia’s future development. He also offered practical advice on how to adapt to life in a foreign country.

The Deputy Prime Minister advised the students to prioritise their health, prepare suitable clothing, and adjust their diets to cope with the colder climate. He also urged them to be prepared for the academic and daily challenges they will face in their new environment.

Highlighting the quality of Hungarian education, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron noted that the country’s system is a respected European model, particularly in science, engineering, and agriculture. He stressed the importance of being proactive in class, asking questions, and using effective study methods like summarising lessons.

He also reminded the students to embrace cultural exchange while staying true to their Cambodian identity. He encouraged them to be patient while adapting to their new surroundings and to manage their time and finances responsibly.

In closing, the Deputy Prime Minister underscored the importance of discipline, ethics, and respect for the law. He emphasised that academic success must be accompanied by strong moral values and responsible behaviour.
