Ministry of Women’s Affairs Meets with UNDP Resident Representative

H.E. Dr. Ing Kantha Phavi, Cambodia’s Minister of Women’s Affairs, met here on Oct. 6 with Mr. Enrico Gaveglia, UNDP Resident Representative in Cambodia to discuss ongoing efforts to promote gender equality.

On the occasion, they exchanged views on emerging social and global development trends and explored new opportunities to further strengthen collaboration in key areas, including gender-responsive budgeting and data-driven strategies to accelerate inclusive economic growth.

The Minister expressed appreciation for UNDP’s long-standing partnership since 2001 in advancing gender equality and sustainable development through capacity building, policy support, and initiatives that promote women’s leadership in economic development and governance.

Currently, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs of Cambodia and UNDP are jointly implementing the Institutional Transformation for Gender Equality (ITGE) project, which aims to strengthen gender-responsive budgeting, enhance gender data and research, and foster greater engagement of the private sector, youth, and civil society in promoting equality.
