The French-Cambodian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), Siem Reap Chapter, has pledged to work with the Ministry of Tourism to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential and investment opportunities in preparation for the 20th Francophonie Summit, to be held in Siem Reap in 2026.
The commitment was highlighted by Mr. François Schnobelen, President of the French-Cambodian CCI (Siem Reap Chapter), during a meeting with H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, in Phnom Penh on Dec. 4. The two sides discussed tourism-sector cooperation, as well as recommendations and initiatives from association members aimed at strengthening tourism, improving the business climate, and enhancing investment effectiveness.
H.E. Minister Huot Hak expressed appreciation and gratitude to the association for its continued confidence in the Royal Government’s sound and wise leadership, reflected through the sustained investments of its members and the valuable initiatives put forward. He also briefed the Chamber on the immediate and medium-term measures prepared by the Ministry of Tourism to address current challenges. The Minister underscored that the French-Cambodian CCI remains an important and indispensable partner in supporting Cambodia’s tourism development and investment growth.
For his part, Mr. Schnobelen noted that after living and doing business in Cambodia for many years, he has come to admire the Cambodian people’s love of peace and hospitality. He praised Cambodia’s warm welcome, social harmony, and development across all sectors under conditions of peace and security. He reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential and investment opportunities to French tourists and investors.
The meeting also touched on proactive joint preparations for the Francophonie Village at the 2026 Summit, aiming to make it attractive, vibrant, and content-rich, while showcasing Cambodia’s tourism strengths and investment prospects to high-level delegates, participants, and the international community.
