GBC Secretariat Continues Discussions for Third Day


The General Border Committee (GBC) Secretariat continued their discussions for the third consecutive day this morning.

According to H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence, the meeting began at 10:00 am at Prom-Pak Kard Permanent Border Checkpoint, located between Pailin province of Cambodia and Chanthaburi province of Thailand.

The Cambodian delegation was led by Gen. Nhem Boraden, Chief of the Cambodian GBC Secretariat, and the Thai delegation was headed by Gen. Nuttapong Praokaew, Chief of the Thai GBC Secretariat.

The secretariat teams are continuing their discussions to ensure the cessation of hostilities and find solutions to restore stability between the two countries, as well as to facilitate a swift return to normalcy.

This secretariat-level meeting serves as the essential technical preparation for the upcoming 3rd Special Cambodia-Thailand GBC Meeting, scheduled for Dec. 27, to be co-chaired by the Defence Ministers of both countries.
