Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said the continued progress of MinebeaMitsumi in Cambodia clearly demonstrates both the country’s resilience and the company’s strong commitment to maintaining and expanding its operations in the Kingdom.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen made the remarks during a meeting with Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma, CEO of MinebeaMitsumi Co., Ltd., and his colleagues at the Senate’s Solidarity Palace in Phnom Penh on Tuesday morning, according to H.E. Chea Thyrith, Spokesperson of the Senate.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen warmly welcomed the MinebeaMitsumi delegation and expressed his satisfaction with the company’s strong presence in Cambodia and its continued expansion of investment in the country.
Mr. Kainuma expressed his profound gratitude to Samdech Techo Hun Sen for receiving him and his colleagues. He recalled that his previous meeting with Samdech Techo was on July 22, 2025, before the outbreak of the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict.
Although the border conflict had some impact on transportation, it did not affect MinebeaMitsumi’s business operations, which continued smoothly as usual, he said. This, he added, demonstrated Cambodia’s resilience in maintaining investor confidence.
Mr. Kainuma briefed Samdech Techo on the company’s progress, noting that MinebeaMitsumi has so far established two factories in Cambodia, one in Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone and another in Pursat province, contributing to job creation. The company is also developing a solar-powered electricity plant in Pursat.
The CEO further said that MinebeaMitsumi is exploring opportunities to expand its investment in Cambodia.
Despite recent reports concerning online scam-related crimes and the Cambodia-Thailand border conflict, he said he personally considers investment in Cambodia to be reliable and has no concerns about the investment environment. MinebeaMitsumi has now operated in Cambodia for approximately 15 years.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his pleasure at the company’s progress and said he was encouraged that the border situation had not affected MinebeaMitsumi’s investment and operations in Cambodia.
He also welcomed the company’s interest in expanding its investment and encouraged Mr. Kainuma to continue placing confidence in the Royal Government of Cambodia.
Samdech Techo noted that MinebeaMitsumi had previously worked with the government under his leadership and is now operating under the leadership of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, adding that both leaders have strong economic backgrounds and that Cambodia’s investment environment continues to improve.
