COVID-19: 37 New Infections; Tally 1,578


Cambodia’s Ministry of Health (MoH) this morning announced the detection of 37 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19); the tally increased to 1,578.

According to the ministry’s press release, the new patients aged from 7 months to 77 years old are locally-transmitted cases. They include 31 Cambodians and 6 Chinese in Phnom Penh capital and the provinces of Preah Sihanouk and Kandal.

At the same time, the MoH recorded 19 new recovered cases from COVID-19; bringing the total cured patients in the Kingdom to 917.

The newly recovered cases – 14 Chinese, 3 Cambodians, and 2 Vietnamese aged between 25 and 46 years old – are linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event. They all have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.
