COVID-19: Daily Infections Drop Doubly


Daily cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Cambodia saw a double decline to 40 this morning, from 86 yesterday.

A press release of the Ministry of Health announced that the new cases – all linked to the Feb. 20 Community Event – were found in 9 provinces and capital – 27 in Phnom Penh, 6 in Koh Kong, and 1 each in Siem Reap, Takeo, Svay Rieng, Thbong Khmum, Kampot, Kandal, and Kratie provinces.

According to the source, 34 of them are Cambodians and the rest 6 are Chinese. The youngest one is only 4 months old while the oldest is 60 years old. Moreover, 7 of them are young children under 10 years old.

Cambodia’s COVID-19 tally now reached 2,273.

At the same time, 6 more recovered cases were reported. They include 3 Chinese, 2 Cambodians, and 1 Vietnamese. They are all community cases in Kandal province. They have been allowed to be discharged after being tested negative twice consecutively.

The total number of cured patients in the Kingdom thus stood at 1.172, with 11 deaths recorded.
