The Royal Government of Cambodia this morning launched the Business Registration System on Information Technology Platform (OBR) Phase 2 to enhance the quality of user experience and to expand the scope of easing the business registration process through time and fees reduction, and shifting to online, packaged registration procedure with the concerned ministries and institutions.
The launching ceremony was held virtually under the presidency of H.E Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Finance.
Collaborated with the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Non-Banking Financial Services Authority, through the OBR Phase 2, users can apply for Prakas to Establish Small and Medium Enterprise, Tour Operator and Travel Agent Tourism Licence, Hotel and Accommodation Service Tourism Licence, and Restaurant Tourism Licence, pointed out a press release of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
Licence/Certificate/Permit to Operate in ICT Sector, Licence/Certificate/Permit to Operate in Post Sector, Pawn Business Licence, and Transfer-of-Title Business Licence can also be applied for, it added.
To be able to apply, it underlined, users need to visit www.registrationservices.gov.kh or the websites of the relevant ministries/institutions, login by using the CamDigiKey mobile application, pay online, and obtain a legally-valid, digital licence/certificate/permit/Prakas.
The Business Registration System on Information Technology Platform (OBR) Phase 1 was officially launched on June 15, 2020.
According to the press release, the spontaneous data exchange between OBR Phase 1 and Phase 2 is made possible by the data exchange between relevant ministries/institutions on the Cambodia Data Exchange Platform (CamDX).
This does not only foster better user experience in filling out the application form but also stands as the positive feature that allows relevant ministries/institutions to reduce the review period and to ensure data consistency across relevant ministries/institutions, it stated.
This is a crucial course of action taken by the Royal Government of Cambodia, in realising the vision of building a vibrant digital society and economy by using technology as a core of the implementation, it stressed.
For the next step, the working group will continue to work with other relevant ministries/institutions to further expand the scope of the OBR platform to later phases by enabling users to apply for other specialised licences in the near future, said the same source.
