Over 60,000 Tourists Recorded in Second Weekend of September


A total of 63,421 people toured Cambodia in the second weekend of September, an increase of 24.25 percent compared to the previous week, according to H.E. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism.
Of the domestic visitors, 62,462 were national tourists, and 959 were foreign visitors, he pointed out.
The most visited tourist destinations were Phnom Penh capital, followed by Kampot, Kep, Takeo, Preah Sihanouk, and Pursat provinces.
All Provincial and Municipal Departments of Tourism have been actively promoting and implementing the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) introduced by the Ministry of Tourism on Sept. 1, 2021 to ensure the operation of the business tourism in the new normal and ensure the quality of service with satisfaction, added H.E. Thong Khon.
The Ministry of Tourism has also issued a circular to control the flow of tourists and improve the quality of tourism products for the upcoming Pchum Ben holiday.
