Cambodia to Have New Special COVID-19 and Cancer Hospitals

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia will soon have a special hospital for COVID-19 treatment and another one for cancer.

While holding a get-together here this morning with over 500 Cambodian delegates and athletes before their departure for the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, the Premier said a COVID-19 hospital, which can accommodate up to more than 10,000 patients, have been being built, and the construction will be completed early next year.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen took the opportunity to appeal to his compatriots to keep their vigilance because even though the number of new COVID-19 cases in Cambodia is dropping dramatically, we may face a new wave of the pandemic.

On the other hands, Luong Me (Queen-Mother) Hospital, used for COVID-19 treatment, will be turned into a hospital for cancer, he added.

Luong Me Hospital, originally known as Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital, has been bought by Royal Government of Cambodia and converted into a COVID-19 treatment centre during the community outbreak in 2021.
