UN Appreciates Cambodia’s Contribution to World Peace


Visiting H.E. Abdulla SHAHID, President of the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), has spoken highly of the key contribution of Cambodia in maintaining peace in the world.

According to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in a courtesy call on the Cambodian Premier at the Peace Palace here this morning, H.E. Abdulla SHAHID said Cambodia had transformed from a country receiving blue-helmet troops to a country sending troops for peacekeeping operations under the UN umbrella.

“This is a big success and a great change in Cambodia’s image,” H.E. Abdulla SHAHID underlined, lauding Samdech Techo Hun Sen’s leadership in bringing full peace and stability to the country through the Win-Win policy which has left no one behind, avoided vengeance, and promoted national integration.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen thanked H.E. Abdulla SHAHID, who is concomitantly Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, for his good comments on Cambodia.

The Prime Minister briefed his guest on Cambodia’s favorable investment policies and asked him to encourage Maldives investors to seek investment potential in Cambodia, particularly in the field of agriculture such as rice milling, storage and export, in order to boost the two countries’ trade cooperation.
