China to Continue Promoting Economic Cooperation with Cambodia

China will continue to boost the economic cooperation with Cambodia, mainly in importing Cambodian agricultural produce, increasing direct flights to Cambodia, encouraging Chinese investors to the Kingdom, and assisting Cambodia in green development.

The commitment was reaffirmed by visiting H.E. Liu Jianchao, Director of Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, while paying a courtesy call on Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the January 7 Palace in Phnom Penh this morning, according to H.E. Eang Sophalleth, Assistant to the Cambodian Premier.

H.E. Liu Jianchao also conveyed greetings from Chinese top leaders and handed over a message of Chinese President H.E. Xi Jinping to Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

The CPC senior official appreciated the rapid development of Cambodia compared to his previous visit to the Kingdom in 2004. High economic growth, urban development, smiling people, and recognised role on international scene reflect the right leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and is a model for other developing countries, he underlined.

In reply, Samdech Techo Hun Sen shared the same ideas with Liu Jianchao that the economic development is to serve people’s needs. In this regard, he thanked and welcomed the expansion of cooperation between the two countries, especially in trade, agriculture, investment, tourism, as well as green energy.
