UK Interested in Trade Collaboration in Preah Sihanouk

The United Kingdom (UK) is interested in trade collaboration and has pledged to encourage more British investors and tourists to Preah Sihanouk province.

The intention was highlighted by H.E. Dominic Williams MBE, newly-appointed British Ambassador to Cambodia during a meeting with H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province in Sihanoukville on Nov. 28.

H.E. Dominic Williams MBE informed H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun that a British naval patrol ship with nearly 100 crew is planning to dock at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port in early 2023 for a five-day visit.

The visit aims to further strengthen the relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The new diplomat congratulated Preah Sihanouk province for the preparation of the 9th Sea Festival and the World’s Most Beautiful Beach Club Conference to be held in December to attract tourists to the province.

H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun welcomed the intention and the plan of naval ship to dock in Preah Sihanouk province.

Cambodia is a United Nations member country and welcomed many foreign naval ships in 2022 from Japan, Thailand, Canada, Pakistan and U.S., said the governor.

He also underlined the province’s rapid development and investment potential in all sectors, especially in tourism, economy, and trade.
