Cambodian PM Reassures Religious Freedom in the Kingdom


Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen reaffirmed here this morning the Royal Government’s commitment to assure the freedom of religious belief in Cambodia.

Addressing to the launch of Cambodia Gospel Centennial Celebration (1923-2023) held at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said Cambodia has maintained the freedom of religious belief for 44 years ago and will continue to oppose all forms of discrimination and division among the people due to different religious beliefs.

“Religious conflict is a major disaster, so the Kingdom must ensure religious harmony for peace,” the Premier underlined.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen suggested the Christian community in Cambodia to choose a representative for dialogue with other religions and relevant authorities.

The Prime Minister also thanked the Christian community for their support for the education, human resource development, and street children’s well-being, etc. in Cambodia.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his hope that the Christian community will continue contributing to maintaining peace, social order and law enforcement in Cambodia.
