Cambodia, Korea Agree on Capacity Building Plan on Occupational Safety and Health


Cambodia and the Republic of Korea have reached an agreement on the plan for institutional capacity building project for occupational safety and health (OSH) training in Cambodia.

The agreement was signed here on Mar. 21 between H.E. Dr. Huy Hansong, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and Mr. Lee Jae Wang, Director of International Cooperation Centre of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA).

According to H.E. Leng Tong, Director of OSH Department of at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, the project is scheduled to be completed in 2024 with a budget of more than US$2 million.

H.E. Dr. Huy Hansong spoke highly of the agreement, stressing that Korea’s assistance will significantly contribute to preventing accidents at work, as well as providing skills to workers to be protected in advance while working.

He also thanked the Republic of Korea for its support, both human and technical, for Cambodia in terms of occupational safety and health.
