Cambodian, Chinese Armies Agree on Three Cooperation Principles


The Royal Cambodian Army under the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) and the Ground Force of the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA) have agreed on three cooperation principles to contribute to the establishment of a strong and long-lasting Cambodia-China Community of Common Destiny.

The agreement was made in a bilateral meeting here on Nov. 6 between H.E. Gen. Mao Sophann, RCAF Deputy Commander-in-Chief and Commander of the Royal Cambodian Army, and visiting H.E. Gen. Li Qiaoming, Commander of the PLA Ground Force.

The three cooperation principles include Build a strong army together; Build a growing and prosperous army together; and Build an army of peace with each other.

In terms of military cooperation, both sides praised the fruitful achievements in human resource training, visit exchanges at all levels, and material support.

They also noted the importance of continuing to strengthen and expand the existing cooperation and to cooperate in carrying out the signed agreements on the basis of strong, traditional and trustworthy relations between the two countries and peoples for mutual benefits, as well as to contribute to maintaining peace and security in the region.

H.E. Gen. Li Qiaoming’s visit to Cambodia, the first ever visit in the history of both countries’ army relations, will become a driving force in promoting and deepening the relationship between the two armies.
