Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MoEYS) and Osaka Christian College of Japan (OCC) have discussed their cooperation in the field of education.
Taking place here on Nov. 12 afternoon, the discussion was led by H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of MoEYS, and Mr. Masakuni Negishi, Head of the visiting OCC delegation.
According to Mr. Masakuni Negishi, OCC in collaboration with Hiroshima House, an NGO, in carrying out a kindergarten project in Phnom Penh, offering free education for young children, with the aim of contributing to the development of human resources in Cambodia, starting at the kindergarten level.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron appreciated and thanked the OCC for its contribution to human resource development in Cambodia, and highlighted the Kingdom’s as well as MoEYS’ high attention to the education at the kindergarten level.
Currently, in partnership with the Royal University of Phnom Penh, OCC has been promoting scholarship, student exchange, and joint research with Cambodia to implement a Japanese language curriculum at the grassroots level. The programme focuses on high school students who want to study at the OCC or other Japanese schools and those who want to work in Japan. It will start with two Cambodian schools in Prey Veng and Kampot provinces, and is planned to expand to more high schools in the future.
