11th IPTP Plenary Session in Phnom Penh to Enact Cambodia-Initiated Peace Charter

Cambodia is working hard for a productive 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP) to enact the Peace Charter, initiated by Cambodian peace hero Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, for global benefit.

President of Cambodian National Assembly (NA) Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary recently led a progress review meeting for the preparation of the IPTP plenary session on Nov. 23-26 in Phnom Penh and was confident that all is set for the event.

Echoing the review assessment, H.E. Sous Yara, the Chair of the Committee for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Information of Cambodia’s NA, who was tasked to lead the organisation, unveiled that top on the event’s agenda was the enactment of the Peace Charter proposed by President of Cambodian Senate Samdech Techo Hun Sen.

The initiative demonstrates Cambodia’s unwavering political commitment to the world’s peace, and the charter will serve as an essential basis for peacebuilding dialogue and diplomacy for all member states and beyond, he said.

H.E. Sous Yara added that Cambodia will also share its experience with the international community during the IPTP plenary session.

The sharing will centre around conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and conflict mediation through peaceful dialogue and transitional justice for all parties involved.

Cambodia’s sharing will also focus on post-conflict reconstruction, including humanitarian response, among others, to benefit all participating delegates as well as to inspire the enactment of the Peace Charter.

Samdech Khuon Sudary appreciated both the prepared substance for the meeting as well as overall logistic arrangements, considering the event as an immense network building for peace and cooperation.

As planned, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will preside over the official opening ceremony of the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace, while the closing ceremony will be presided over by Samdech Khuon Sudary.
