Cambodian Businesses Honored for Sustainable Practices

Cambodian businesses that excel in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices were honoured at the EuroCham ESG Contest and Awards ceremony in Phnom Penh on Nov. 20.

The event highlighted the growing importance of ESG principles in fostering sustainable and ethical business landscape, said the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI).

H.E. Hem Vanndy, Minister of MISTI and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise, congratulated the awardees and praised all participating companies for their commitment to addressing global challenges like climate change and social inequality.

“ESG is no longer a checkbox on a corporate report; it is a framework for better decisions for our planet, our communities, and our organisations,” he said.

H.E. Minister urged businesses to persist in their efforts to integrate ESG principles, emphasising the long-term value of sustainable practices. He also commended EuroCham and Khmer Enterprise for their role in championing ESG initiatives in Cambodia.

According to MISTI, the EuroCham ESG Awards recognised outstanding achievements in five categories: Environment Leader; Diversity, Equity & Social Leader; Industry Partnership Leader; Technology Leader; and Youth Leader.
