Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has re-emphasised the significance of peace in front of nearly 300 delegates from 53 countries around the world.
Addressing at the opening ceremony of the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP 11) at Sokha Phnom Penh Hotel this morning, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said this international event truly reflected the shared commitment of parliamentarians, politicians, and relevant stakeholders from all peace-loving nations to building a world of peace, tolerance, harmony and prosperity.
As the world faces numerous challenges arising from traditional and nontraditional security threats that have posed serious concern for global peace, stability and development, hosting this event is a call of duty for Cambodia, he said.
The Cambodian Premier said peace is the foundation for everything. “Without peace, there is nothing. There is no development, no prosperity, no human rights, no future if no peace,” he said.
“Cambodia historical journey to peace has transformed our nation in the most unimaginable ways thanks to the visionary Win-Win policy. Not only did this noble policy to end the decades of conflict, but it also laid the groundwork for national reconciliation and enduring stability,” Samdech Thipadei underlined.
