The Cambodia Ministry of Environment and the China Ministry of Natural Resources have inked a memorandum of understanding on clean, green, and sustainable endeavours under the Sustainable Ocean Collaboration Initiatives.
Cambodia Minister of Environment H.E. Eang Sophalleth and Vice Minister of Natural Resources of the People’s Republic of China H.E. Sun Shuxian signed the deal in Phnom Penh on Dec. 2.
H.E. Sun Shuxian said the agreement will respond to climate change through the restoration of green and blue ecosystems.
It promotes sustainable environment conservation cooperation through ocean cleanup, capacity building and technology transfer for the benefits of the communities and future generations.
H.E. Eang Sophalleth deeply appreciated the bilateral partnership to fight against biodiversity loss, pollution, and climate change.
It is well in line with Cambodia’s Environmental Chakra Strategy 2023-2028, centring around three pillars, namely cleanliness, greenness, and sustainability, he added.
