Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic H.E. Dr. Sonexay SIPHANDONE this morning began his two-day official visit to Cambodia, at the invitation of Samdech Maha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
The Lao Premier and his spouse Madam Vandala SIPHANDONE, were warmly welcomed upon their arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport by H.E. Keo Rottanak, Minister of Mines and Energy as Minister-in-Attendance and many other senior officials.
According to a press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC), H.E. Dr. Sonexay SIPHANDONE and Madam will be granted a royal audience with His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, King of Cambodia, at the Royal Palace. H.E. Prime Minister is scheduled to pay separate courtesy calls on Samdech Akka Maha Sena Padei Techo HUN Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Moha Rathsapheathika Thipadei KHUON Sudary, President of the National Assembly.
H.E. Dr. Sonexay SIPHANDONE will have a bilateral meeting with Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister at the Peace Palace, where they both will have an in-depth discussion on further fostering warm relations and expanding beneficial cooperation between the two countries in line with good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, and a comprehensive and long-lasting strategic partnership. The two Prime Ministers will also exchange their views on regional and international issues of common interest. The two Leaders will also preside over the signing of some cooperative documents.
During the visit, H.E. Prime Minister of the Lao PDR will lay wreaths at the Independence Monument and the Royal Memorial Statue of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK, “PREAH BOROM RATANAK KAUDH,” the late King-Father of Cambodia.
“The official visit of H.E. Prime Minister of Lao PDR to the Kingdom of Cambodia will further cement the bonds of traditional friendship, which happily exist and expand cooperation in all fields between the two countries,” underlined the MFAIC.
