Cambodia, Australia Vow to Further Foster Water Resources Cooperation

Cambodia and Australia have pledged to foster bilateral cooperation in water resources development in Cambodia.

The joint commitment was highlighted in a meeting between H.E. Thor Chetha, Cambodian Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, and H.E. Derek Yip, Australian Ambassador to Cambodia, at the ministry on Tuesday.

H.E. Thor Chetha thanked the Government of Australia for supporting the development of Cambodia’s water resources.

The Cambodian Agricultural Value Chain Programmes (CAVAC I and CAVAC II), supported by Australia, contributed to expanding farmers’ access to water, thus boosting rural economic growth, said the minister.

They also discussed new projects, focusing on water governance and policy development to promote climate-resilient integrated water resources management.
