Minister of Education Discusses Cooperation with Cuban Ambassador


H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, has received H.E. Ms. Milena Caridad Zaldivar Piedra, Ambassador of Cuba to Cambodia, for a cooperation discussion.

In the meeting here on Feb. 19, H.E. Ms. Milena Caridad Zaldivar Piedra highlighted the government of Cuba’s medical scholarships for 2025-2026 for Cambodian students as well as the support of the INDER Institute (Cuba’s National Institute of Sport, Physical Education and Recreation) for physical education in the country.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron spoke highly of Cuba’s contribution to supporting Cambodia, particularly the development of physical education and sports.

The deputy prime minister particularly thanked the government of Cuba for providing scholarships to Cambodian students and helping train Cambodian athletes.

The support contributed not only to Cambodia’s human resources development but also to expanding intimate relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The two were positive in further strengthening and broadening bilateral cooperation in all sectors in the future.
