The Ministry of Health and the ECRI for the Asia-Pacific have discussed the feasibility of participating in a healthcare system enhancement project to promote Cambodia’s health sector.
The discussion took place in a meeting between H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra, Minister of Health, and Mr. Eric Woo, Deputy Director of ECRI for the Asia-Pacific region, in Phnom Penh on Feb. 20.
According to Mr. Eric Woo, ECRI is an independent non-profit organisation tasked with healthcare research and promoting the quality and effectiveness of patients’ healthcare services.
The ECRI has helped stakeholders through strong research, technology assessment with correct information, and helping policymakers and service providers make decisions leading to safe standards and high-quality patient healthcare, he added.
H.E. Prof. Chheang Ra appreciated the ECRI’s willingness to support Cambodia’s health sector and requested Mr. Eric Woo to share his knowledge and experience in health human resources training and research skills with Cambodia.
That will contribute to improving healthcare services, ensuring that hospitals and clinics provide patients with safe and effective treatment services, he said.
