Thai Prime Minister to Visit Cambodia

Thai Prime Minister H.E. Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra will pay a visit to Cambodia to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Cambodia-Thailand diplomatic relations.

The planned visit was raised when H.E. Tull Traisorat, newly appointed Thai Ambassador to Cambodia, paid a courtesy call on and presented his credentials to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State of Cambodia, at the Senate Palace here this morning.

On the occasion, Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to H.E. Tull Traisorat’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia, and highlighted some major achievements as well as the good cooperation between both Kingdoms.

The Acting Head of State mentioned the organisation of various activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Cambodia-Thailand diplomatic ties, including the friendly football match, held in Phnom Penh on Mar. 8. This shows the spirit of good cooperation and solidarity between the two neighbours in all domains, he added.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen also hailed the two-way trade which rose to more than US$10 billion in 2024, up from some US$8 billion the previous year.

For his part, H.E. Tull Traisorat expressed his commitment to further expand the cooperation between the two nations, and vowed to attract more Thai investors to invest in Cambodia.

Cambodia and Thailand established their diplomatic relations on Dec. 19, 1950. Both countries elevated their bilateral ties to the level of Strategic Partnership in February 2024 during the official visit of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet to Thailand.
