Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, this morning re-emphasised the approach taken by the Royal Government in public sector reform.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the Ministry of Civil Service, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that while many countries around the world have pursued public sector reforms by downsising to enhance efficiency, Cambodia has chosen a different path.
The US, the UK, Pakistan, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Argentina have undertaken public sector reforms by shrinking to strengthen, but Cambodia has not, pointed out the Premier, stressing that the Kingdom has adopted her own approach – Strengthen Rather Than Expand.
Cambodia has currently 30 ministries and secretariats with a total of 232,034 civil servants, including 96,969 women.
