Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother Extend Condolences over the Loss of Neak Oknha Oudom Metreivisidh Hun San


His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, and Her Majesty the Queen-Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk have sent separate condolence messages to Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Acting Head of State, and his spouse, Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross.

“I have learned about the sad news that H.E. Neak Oknha Oudom Metreivisidh Hun San, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, the elder brother of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo and brother-in-law of Samdech Kittiprittpundit, passed away on March 28, 2025 at 02:27 am at the age of 78 due to illness,” wrote the monarchs.

Their Majesties the King and Queen-Mother expressed their deepest condolences and sympathies to Samdech Techo and Samdech Kittiprittpundit, as well as to all their family members and relatives, stressing that this is a loss for the Cambodian nation and people.

The monarchs also prayed for the soul of H.E. Neak Oknha Oudom Metreivisidh to rest in peace.

At the same time, legislative and executive leaders have extended their heartfelt condolences to Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen.

H.E. Neak Oknha Oudom Metreivisidh Hun San was born on July 6, 1948, in Peam Koh Sla commune, Stung Trang district, Kampong Cham province. He was the eldest of six children in a farming family. He was married to Lok Chumteav Chroeung Kimhen, and together they had five children.

Throughout his career, H.E. Hun San held various positions before being appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport in 2022.

On July 14, 2023, he was granted the title of Neak Oknha Oudom Metreivisidh by His Majesty the King in recognition of his dedication to the national development and his contributions to support the underprivileged in Cambodia.
