Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly, led a high-level parliamentary delegation to attend the opening banquet of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) 2025 World Summit, in Seoul, the Republic of Korea from April 10.
The banquet brought together delegates from more than 100 countries from different sectors to celebrate unity and shared hope for global peace. These delegates represented a diverse mix of individuals, including government officials, state representatives, religious leaders, academics, and members of civil society.
The event featured 40 speakers from diverse nations who delivered messages of hope and solidarity, addressing contemporary challenges to the global order.
Among the themes was the vision that ‘Peace in Asia will be peace throughout the world’, and ‘no one stands alone, we need each other, we need to live with one another.’
Dr. Charles S. Yang, Chairman of UPF International, warmly welcomed the delegates to Korea, calling them as ‘great ambassadors for peace.’ He expressed his appreciation to all participants, underscoring the global unity embodied by the event.
The organisers also expressed their gratitude to the leadership and dedication of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, former Prime Minister and currently serves as the President of the Senate for leading international dialogue and efforts towards the adoption of the Universal Peace Charter.
Samdech Khuon Sudary is set to address at the opening session of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), chair a roundtable discussion, and deliver a keynote address during Plenary Session I on the topic “Contemporary Challenges to World Order: Establishing a New Era of Peace and Prosperity.”
Samdech also has informal bilateral meetings with heads of delegations from legislative bodies and international organisations to strengthen bonds of friendship, mutual cooperation, people-to-people connections, and economic cooperation.
