Samdech Khuon Sudary Participates in ISC Inaugural Assembly in Korea

A high-level Cambodian parliamentary delegation led by Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly, on April 11 attended the Inaugural Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference (ISC), as part of the 2025 World Summit of the Universal Peace Federation being held in Seoul, Republic of Korea from April 10 to 14.

The Cambodian Parliament became a founding member of the ISC following the signing by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and the architect of Cambodia’s Win-Win policy.

This milestone further reinforces Cambodia’s dedication to inter-parliamentary collaboration and global peace-building initiatives.

The ISC, a collaborative initiative involving parliamentary leaders and peace-builders, is committed to promoting lasting peace and shared prosperity across regions. Its mission is built on three foundational principles:

1.  Interdependence: Encouraging parliamentary dialogue and cooperation that transcends borders, addressing shared challenges and fostering a harmonious future.

2.  Mutual Prosperity: Supporting legislative collaboration to share knowledge and resources equitably, cultivating inclusive and thriving communities.

3.  Universally Shared Values: Upholding human dignity while fostering mutual respect among diverse cultures, with a focus on peace initiatives in the Korean Peninsula and beyond.

The ISC brings together parliamentary leaders from around the world, providing a high-level platform for dialogue, collaboration, and addressing contemporary global challenges.

The conference also emphasises partnerships with financial organisations, UN agencies, and sustainability initiatives to implement effective and innovative solutions.

The inaugural ISC assembly is a historic milestone in parliamentary diplomacy, with participation from speakers representing 37 countries.

The event began with a signing ceremony, followed by thematic discussions and concurrent sessions, and concluded with a joint declaration at the National Assembly of Korea.

During this assembly, Hon. Yusuf Raza Gilani, Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, was elected as the first ISC President.
