The ceremony was presided over by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and visiting H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, following their bilateral meeting.
Of the total agreements, 22 documents were formally exchanged, while 15 others were announced.
The cooperation deals cover a wide range of areas including economy, trade, human resource development, AI, sports, media, agriculture, youth, health, water resources, tourism, culture, and so on.
The memoranda of understanding on news cooperation between the Cambodian state-owned news agency – the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP) – and three Chinese media institutions, including Xinhua, People’s Daily and China Media Group, were also among the 37 documents.
A high-level Chinese delegation led by H.E. Xi Jinping arrived in Phnom Penh this morning for a two-day state visit to Cambodia, at the invitation of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.
This milestone visit will further cement the traditional relations of friendship built by successive leaders of both countries, commented the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, adding that it will add great significance to the ironclad friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
