Minister of Tourism of Cambodia, H.E. Huot Hak, met in Istanbul, Türkiye with Mr. Ahmet Olmustur, Chief Commercial Officer of Turkish Airlines, to discuss the upcoming launch of direct flights from Istanbul to Techo International Airport by the end of 2025.
The meeting also highlighted a plan to promote Cambodia’s tourism potential to the people of Türkiye and to the world, said the Ministry of Tourism in a news release.
Turkish Airlines will commence regular flights from Istanbul, the largest city in Türkiye, to Phnom Penh capital on Dec. 10, 2025, according to the airlines.
With this new destination, it pointed out, Cambodia will become the 7th country served by the airline in Southeast Asia and Phnom Penh will be the 11th city in the region.
The airline will operate flights to Phnom Penh via Bangkok, Thailand. Scheduled three times a week, flights will depart from Istanbul to Phnom Penh on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while flights from Phnom Penh to Istanbul will be operated on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
A high-level delegation of the Cambodian Ministry of Tourism led by H.E. Minister Huot Hak arrived in Istanbul on Monday to attend the 2025 Annual Summit and General Assembly of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), the Government Members’ Policy Forum, and several other important related meetings, following their successful official visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.
