Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) departed here this morning for Ho Chi Minh City to attend Vietnam’s 50th anniversary of national reunification, at the invitation of H.E. To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV).
Samdech Techo Hun Sen is accompanied by Samdech Kitti Sangahapundit Men Sam An, a Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King, Vice President of the CPP, and President of the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of Cambodian Motherland, along with other senior leaders from the legislative body and the Royal Government.
According to the Senate General Secretariat’s press release, during his two-day (April 29-30) stay in Ho Chi Minh City, Samdech Techo Hun Sen will hold separate working meetings with CPV General Secretary H.E. To Lam, President of the National Assembly of Vietnam H.E. Tran Thanh Man, and H.E. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam.
The Cambodian Senate President is also scheduled to meet with other foreign leaders attending the event.
The presence of Samdech Techo Hun Sen at the commemoration underscores the continued strengthening and promotion of traditional friendship, solidarity, and win-win cooperation between Cambodia and Vietnam, in line with the spirit of “good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation, and long-term stability,” underlined the source.
