Agriculture Minister Highlights Cambodia’s Policy for Sustainable Fisheries at Earth Day 2025


H.E Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, presided over on April 29 the Earth Day 2025, highlighting measures and close cooperation with relevant parties to manage fisheries resources sustainably and sustainably.

Under the theme “Sustainable Management of Fisheries Resources,” the event was held in Phnom Penh with participation from H.E. Igor Driesmans, Ambassador of the European Union to Cambodia, and Ms. Rebekah Bell, Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations in Cambodia, as well as relevant parties.

Speaking at the function, H.E. Minister expressed his warm welcome and thanked stakeholders for participating in the “Earth 2025 Day”.

H.E. Dith Tina said that this year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has decided to highlight the fisheries sub-sector as a key theme because fisheries resources are a source of nutrition and protein for the Cambodian people.

He commended and highly appreciated the Fisheries Administration for its efforts to implement its work with a high sense of responsibility, cooperate with development partners, and put in place joint means to strengthen the law, eliminate illegal fishing, and contribute to the conservation of freshwater and marine fisheries resources, achieving many satisfactory results.

The minister encouraged further cooperation with all relevant parties to manage fisheries resources sustainably and sustainably.

He thanked the European Union, FAO, UNIDO, AFD, and GIZ, etc., as important partners in supporting the implementation of the work with remarkable success.
